Course Content
The programme takes a green-to-tee approach, starting with putting and then working back from the hole to chipping, pitching, bunkers, iron play and woods, including driver.

Week 1 – Introduction and Putting
Some key terminology; grip, aim, stance and posture, the basic stroke, reading greens, holing short putts, lag putting, introduction to the scoring system and some etiquette.

Week 2 – Chipping and Pitching
Chipping: grip, aim, stance and posture; the basic stroke, club path, using the bounce, distance control. Similarities and differences between putting and chipping.
Pitching: Similarities and differences between chipping and pitching, creating a lever system, your swing centre, distance control.

Week 3 – Full Swing: Irons
Similarities and differences between pitching and the full swing, rotation and weight transfer. Two positions worth knowing: at the top and the trophy finish. Why there are so many irons.

Week 4 – Full Swing: Woods
Similarities and differences between the driver swing and the iron swing, making sure you have the right tee height, an introduction to fairway woods and hybrids. How far should you be hitting it?

Week 5 – Putting it all together: From Tee to Green (including bunkers)
Can you put it all together? We start on the driving range with tee shots, then hit some irons, then some pitch shots. Then we will go over to the practice bunker and see if we can get out of the sand! Finally, back to the putting green for some chipping and putting games.
Clinics are for more experienced golfers looking to learn more about the technical aspects of a particular part of the game. It is a chance to build your knowledge and have a go at some of the ideas discussed.

There are no specific dates or times for a clinic. Simply register your interest and I will look at building a class at a date and time that everyone will be able to attend.
